PRAYER FOR PEACE

FOCUS:   Courage and Perseverance

Beloved,

Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers,

But to be fearless in facing them.

Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain,

But for the heart to conquer it.

Let me not look for allies to carry me in life's battlefield,

But to my own strength.

Let me not crave in anxious fear to be saved,

But hope for the patience and wisdom to win my freedom.

May I not feel Your mercy in my success alone,

But let me find the grasp of Your hand even in my failure

And grant me the strength and faith to persevere

Until all that I strive for is achieved

And all that I hope for becomes reality.

For all that I do is in Your name

And for Your purpose.

May I serve you well.
