You are the Master Alchemist

Enchanter of souls

Stirring truth skillfully

With precisely placed plans

Paralleled alongside Your life

To which we stood witness

With audaciousness

Defending our deliberate illiteracy

With blindness and rambling

Holding tight to to the incoherence of others

Even against our own testimony 

We deny You

And You, with Sovereign eyes upon us

Sacrifice wrath

To Love us more

Heart of crushed velvet

Shapeshifter

Concealing Your crown

To soothe our uneasiness

We stride boldly in front of You

Making assumptions and declaring them

Even in the face of Your Glory

And holy qualification

We refuse to Know

And so slay ourselves with our own swords

While You quietly tend to our wounds

And wash the blood from our weapons

Holding us and weeping

As we sleep

Oh Beloved...

Your gentleness is my curse

For my soul writhes in this subtleness

Aching for insolence

And this insatiable need

To call out Your Name

Rescue me again

On the wings of the falcon

In the heart of the child

And by the faith of the saint

For all shall dissolve in Your response

Of this single spoken word.
